JASRI BEACH VILLAS
When you are backpacking around the world there are a trillion and one things you miss and even more that you desire. Sometimes you close your eyes and imagine a place where you are laying in between clean sheets. A place where the sound of the waves crashing are therapeutic and a place where the feeling of home or something close to it takes you to the point of no return. You imagine what it feels like to take a warm shower and if you allow yourself to dream, you might even sink into a classic style bathtub in the middle of a gorgeous outdoor bathroom where all you can smell is nature.
Luckily for us during our 20 days in Bali, Indonesia we were prized with the best surprise any drifter can get. We had the honor of staying at Jasri Beach Villas where for four days and three nights our wildest dreams became a reality. It’s safe to say if there is a heaven on Earth then we managed to enter it and stay there with no cares or worries in the world. Picture a place off the East shores of Bali where hospitality takes a new meaning. From homemade morning breakfasts to incredibly delicious local lunches our time in Jasri Beach Villas was beyond anything I could ever put into words. Our surroundings took our breath away every morning when we walked out of our huge and gorgeous Beach Clubhouse, Villa Puri Ikan. Our routine for those four days was having none. Some mornings we practiced Nia with an insanely beautiful beachfront view. Other days we lounged around the Estate’s infinity pool for what felt like endless hours. At times we rocked ourselves into an afternoon nap on the hammocks while we happily drifted into another world, Utopia. And some nights we even managed to make homemade dinners and peacefully embraced a reality that even for us seemed too good to be true. On our last day we even hired Budi the Villas’ driver to take us to the secluded and ridiculously beautiful “white sand beach,” also known as Virgin beach. And on that given afternoon we adventurously ended in the middle of what will forever remain as the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen, endless views of rice paddies that lay between the Villas and the infamous white sand beach.
The experience we had in Jasri was surreal and perhaps till this day still a dream. It wasn’t till I found myself in the middle of the outdoor bathroom while the warm water drizzled over my body that I realized some drifter’s dreams do come true. I have no words to extend my sincere gratitude to the Sunnland family, Kelli Gratz and Jasri Beach Villas’ staff for giving these drifters the gift of true Balinese hospitality. My heart still melts when I think of Bali and I know that for today and forever I will always hope to find my way back to “Jasri heaven.”
Drifter tip- If you make it to Bali definitely allocate a couple days to exploring the East side of the island. And if your willing to let your dreams come true, give yourself a getaway at Jasri Beach Villas for the true Bali experience.
